Shadow Wind is a Community Interest Company that offers adventure training in a maritime context and caters to disadvantaged / marginalised groups including homeless, youth in care, sufferers of mental illness, ex forces, aged. This is conducted through a programme of sail training and other outdoor pursuits, as well as the opportunity to be involved in productive activities that develop basic maintenance skills (woodwork, painting, repairs) on boats, and help build purpose and focus back into life goals whilst developing new capabilities.

As Media Director my responsibilities include developing marketing strategy and brand building for the company, with a focus on increasing media profile through photography, videography, writing and social media platforms.

As Adventure Experiences Director and general member of the board of Directors, my remit also includes seeking sources of sponsorship and funding grants for social enterprise projects, including linking in with scientific research opportunities (both in a marine science / sustainable oceans context, and more in line with my personal experience, from a psychology and mental wellbeing perspective); designing and facilitating new experience itineraries, and offering personal coaching from an adventure perspective.
